OS Recovery is not a Nightmare
While finding your OS on any given system non-responsive and a medium to major headache, recovery of old information and reinstallation of the operating system need not be a difficult task.
On MikroTik's RouterOS, it indeed is no such thing. To find out how easily you can recover your information and reinstall RouterOS, watch the video below:
Running the Netinstall process is, as you saw, very easy and straightforward.
All you need to remember is that this utility is available for download based on the 32-bit or 64-bit version of your Windows, as well as the RouterOS version you intend to install on your hardware.
Also, bear in mind that you cannot use Netinstall to only recover lost or forgotten credentials. Either you keep all your old information, including user credentials, or erase all router information in order to drop back to default settings and regain access to your hardware.
