Actions Speak Louder than Noise
Ever been fed up with hardware clamor and fan noise? Sacrificed performance for smaller, quieter devices? Best Ethernet routers on the market costing a little too much?
If you're saying yes to any or maybe all of the three questions above, we've got great news!
MikroTik's bringing you the new CCR2004-16G-2S+PC! Noiseless, affordable, and powerful as its predecessor!
Powerful but Super Quiet
The CCR2004-16G-2S+PC comes with two sets of 8 Gigabit Ethernet ports, a pair of 10G SFP+ cages, an RJ45 console port, 4GB of RAM, and 128MB of NAND local storage.
Quite significantly, this router enjoys an efficient design: Each set of 8 Gigabit Ethernet ports is connected to a separate Marvell Amethyst family switch-chip that carries a 10 Gbps full-duplex connection to the CPU. The same separate 10 Gbps full-duplex CPU connection applies to each of the two SFP+ ports as well.
Coupled with a QuadCore 1.2 GHz ARM 64-bit CPU, such traffic distribution results in one crucial advantage: No bottleneck!
Also, with a DC jack and a 2-pin terminal with the 36-57 V input range, this router also offers power failover to ensure maximum uptime.
With a massive heat sink in the back, this Cloud Core Router has done away with any type of active cooling apparatus and is as quite as can be imagined.
Think of record studios, offices, hotels, etc. If background noise or any type of ongoing murmuring, hissing, humming and whizzing is a no-no at your workplace, you're gonna love this router.
Previous Devices Now Eat Dust!
Remember a couple of weeks ago when we discussed MikroTik discontinuing its 1xxx series of Ethernet routers? Well, here's proof!
The CCR2004-16G-2S+PC easily surpasses some previous best-seller Ethernet routers, especially two of its passively-cooled counterparts, namely the CCR1009-7G-1C-1S+PC and the CC1009-7G-1C-PC.
A glance at the image below shows how the new CCR2004 can easily and quite effectively replace these two CCR1009s within any type of network.
The numbers above indicate 200% and 300% performance increases. For the same price range, you're getting double and triple the performance from this CCR2004.
What's more, the CCR2004-16G-2S+PC works with RouterOS v7, which is a huge plus as MikroTik's quickly shifting all its hardware toward this new version of their operating system.

The Time for Upgrades is Nigh...
MikroTik has been on the fast-track of hardware development for some time now. In addition to launching two 100 Gigabit devices, namely the CCR2216-1G-12XS-2XQ and this month's CRS504-4XQ-IN, it has rolled out a number of other recent products as well.
These items heavily tend toward RouterOS v7 and the ARM 64-bit CPU architecture, and it is quite clear that we are going through a major overhaul of MikroTik's inventory, mostly including Ethernet routers and switches.
Most of these products are quite fresh in the market. Nevertheless, they are quickly replacing older products as they noticeably increase quality of connection and, in turn, daily productivity. It is not just about the speed. You should think of the services you can utilize.
