Yes! MikroTik is Easy!
Equally famous for their extensive capabilities and intricacies in network configuration, MikroTik’s hardware and their main operating system, the RouterOS, are known for their rather challenging learning curves.
Challenging, that is, unless you learn from MikroTik trainers with years of trials and errors and memorable experiences. Then, it becomes just a piece of cake.
Our recommendation is to start with the basics toward a comprehensive and water-tight understanding of connectivity networks and MikroTik hardware, regardless of how seasoned or novice you are.
Learn Networking One Topic at a Time!
In this regard, we, together with MikroTik Canada, are bringing you a free, online MTCNA program readily available on our website and YouTube channel. Modules 1 and 2 have been wrapped up, and we’re about to begin the next chapter that revolves around the popular and highly-useful topic of Firewall.
No registrations or payments necessary. Just subscribe to our YouTube channel and support our efforts by giving us feedback on our video tutorials.
If you wish, you can start at the very beginning with our first look at WinBox, the RouterOS management utility.
Nevertheless, if you have previously worked with RouterOS and WinBox, you may wish to approach your learning journey with a more subject-oriented approach.
To do so, you can learn about the fundamental troubleshooting tools in RouterOS, including Ping, Traceroute, Torch and Log, which, though basic, are some of the most commonly used tools in a manager’s arsenal. For these, you can refer to our Troubleshooting in RouterOS playlist.
What Do You Know About NAT?
If you have already dabbled in establishing networks though, may we interest you in two easy-to-understand tutorials about NAT, i.e., an intro to NAT or Network Address Translation, and NAT Masquerade that offer one trustworthy solution to tackle connectivity issues between two IP hosts.
Go Into Details with DHCP
Alternatively, you may wish to receive a solid understanding of the DHCP function in online networks and see how DHCP servers and clients interact with each other. By going through the DHCP playlist, in addition to these subjects, you can also learn how to use ARP as a reliable security measure to safeguard your home or office network.
By the by, once we have produced and posted all tutorials for this online program, you will also have a chance to sit a free MTCNA exam, either for recertification or to acquire your very first MikroTik qualification and pave the way for other, more advanced engineering courses.
Training Courses Galore!
Whether you’re starting from scratch or hopping between different topics, we’re positive that these tutorials will prove beneficial for all networking professionals, particularly MikroTik enthusiasts. We’re just at the beginning of our third module and have many more videos on the way, so make sure you subscribe and stay up to date.
Also, if you’re looking for other MikroTik courses, visiting our training webpage won’t go amiss, and if you have any questions, we’re just a phone call away!
