Following the launch of the CCR2216-1G-12XS-2XQ that brought the 100G networking capacity to the list of features provided by their Ethernet routers, it appears that MikroTik is quite big on such networking speeds. Why, you wonder?

Described by MikroTik with the three adjectives above, the CRS504-4XQ-IN can be regarded as a matching switch for the aforementioned CCR2216. It is quite clear that MikroTik is planning to expand its family of 100G hardware, and what better way to launch a new switch that goes together with your capable router?
If you're wondering whether 100G is beyond the capacity of everyday network setups, you can rest easy.
The small size and notably low power consumption of the CRS504 (25W without attachments) compared to its networking capabilities means that the 100 Gigabit tier is no longer exclusive to data centers, ISPs or large companies.
Expanding the 100G Networking Arsenal
With four QSFP28 ports, this device is a perfect Cloud Switch for transferring high-volume traffic at exceptionally fast speeds.
Moreover, with the CRS504, the possibilities are endless. Each QSFP28 port on this device is connected to four 25 Gigabit lines, allowing you to connect a maximum of 16 25G devices. Simply let your imagination run wild and think of the mix-and-match options! 100 Gigabits on one port, 40 Gigabits on the other, 4 25G devices on the third QSFP28 third, and maybe even some 10G or 1G cables on the fourth.
Also, there's no need to worry about any downtime. Similar to the client-favorite RB5009UG+S+IN, the CRS504 also comes with three powering options: A 36-57 V DC jack, a 2-pin terminal, and, of course, PoE-in on its single 100Mbit Ethernet port that is used mainly for management.
The CRS504-4XQ-IN runs on a single-core MIPSBE 650 MHz CPU and a 64 MB RAM. It also has a 16 MB Flash storage.
Another great advantage this switch offers is that it dual power supply units are hot-swap PSUs, meaning that you have very little to worry about downtime even when it comes to device maintenance.
Tested in High-Stakes Real-Life Projects
