MikroTik's 100G Family Expands
MikroTik rolled into the month of May with a group of new products, most notably a QSFP module, that is the XQ+31LC02D, along with two connectors as well as a breakout cable, further expanding its family of 100G products.
This QSFP module is used for CCR2216 or CRS504 setups in distances up to 2 Km. It offers four independent full-duplex channels with up to 25 Gbps per channel bandwidth and an aggregate bandwidth of 100 Gbps. It has built-in digital diagnostic functions, including optical power monitoring, and will perform well in environments up to 70° C.
With these 1- and 3-meter cables, you can connect any two MikroTik 100 Gigabit devices (i.e., CCR2216 & CRS504) effortlessly. These cables have integrated QSFP28 modules. Just plug them in and enjoy the speed!
The XQ+BC0003-XS+ is a 3-meter QSFP28 to 4x SFP28 break-out cable. This addition to the MikroTik 100 Gigabit product line allows you to connect multiple 25 Gigabit devices to your CRS504 or CCR2216. With the integrated SFP28 modules, connecting numerous devices becomes as simple as it gets.
Compatibility Matters
The main reason and excitement behind the launch of these products is that, in addition to increasing the possiiblities of different network setups concerning the use of 100G devices, such modules and accessories maximize compatibility and ensure the efficient operation of your network and its hardware.
Using third-party products increase the likelihood of network breakdowns and/or bottlenecks due to the use of incompatible devices and accessories. Moreover, the engineered harmony between same-brand products will not cause hardware malfunctions such as overheating, resets, etc., which, in turn, can lead to maximized network uptimes and better services to clients.
If you're thinking of delving into the 100G MikroTik world, we'd be more than happy to help you plan your network design or upgrade and acheive the best possible results.
