Ramp Up Your Switching Power
As a Cloud Router Switch with a total of 28 independent ports and a switching capacity of 128 Gbps, the CRS328-24P-4S+RM has time and again proved itself as one of the most sought-after devices among MikroTik's network switch inventory. Read below to find out more!
A Switching Toolbox
In addition to an RJ45 serial console port, this Cloud Router Switch comes with twenty-four 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports, as well as two pairs of SFP+ cages, giving you the ability to conduct switching operations within the 1G-10G speed range.
On the inside, the CRS328-24P-4S+RM, which fits inside a 1U rackmount, has an 800 MHz CPU, a 512 MB RAM, and 16 MBs of flash storage. Also, this device has a 100-240 V AC 500 W built-in power supply, as well as different power output options, which are passive PoE, low voltage PoE, 802.3af/at (Type 1 “PoE”/Type 2 “PoE+”) with auto-sensing.
Furthermore, and quite importantly, this switch has a dual-boot feature, meaning you can use both RouterOS and SwitchOS (SwOS) for management and configuration. Ideally, if you're looking for a simplified OS interface only for switching purposes, opt for the latter. However, if you also have limited routing assignments and other layer 3 needs at hand, you'd be better off working with RouterOS.
Features and Performance
The CRS328-24P-4S+RM brings you a wide range of useful features to enable users carry out various switching operations, the most important of which include:
In terms of performance, this CRS328 (not to be confused with the CRS328-4C-20S-4S+RM) has a switching capacity of 128 Gbps, and it provides you with a non-blocking throughput of 64 Gbps. Its forwarding rate stands at 95.2 Mpps, and its maximum power consumption level, when no PoE device is connected, reaches 44 W.
Use Cases
In addition to many other projects and uses, the industries and businesses that can ideally benefit from this device are:
