Diving into Firewall and Packet Flow

Start Your Firewall Journey!

We have finally arrived at the hot topic of firewall and packet flow in our online MTCNA program, and, as the first part of our introduction, we take a look at the packet flow diagram.

Watch the video below now!

The Topics We Cover...

In this video, we first discuss the common sense, underlying rationale of the creation of firewall from a social standpoint.

Next, we introduce the two concepts of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) and go on to identify these networks in the MTCNA home lab network from the viewpoint of the Class Access Point.

Afterward, we discuss the subjects of MPLS and OSI Model Layer 2.5, which eventually lead us to the main RouterOS packet flow diagram.

Finally, as the first part of our introduction to packet flow in RouterOS, we talk about physical IN and OUT interfaces and a given device and discuss them in relation to the incoming and outgoing traffic.
